So today was the first proper day of work, just a short 2 hour clinic in Topsia, where we go 3 times a week. It's a 15 minute drive (with traffic) from central Kolkata, in a predominantly Muslim area with factories nearby, most notably leather hide tanning. Saw a fair mix of people with colds, rashes, some dressing changes, a possible gastric ulcer and a few more interesting ones which I will write more about some other time.
I've also moved room to a cleaner one a floor below. The old one was fairly dirty but what pushed it for me was these little bugs, about a millimeter long, which would crawl across my face in the middle of the night. I bet they were crawling elsewhere as well but I suppose my skin's too thick to feel them anywhere else! So this is the old place:
